About VMS

Since 2006, Vista Montessori School (VMS) has proudly served families throughout the Treasure Valley, offering a warm, authentic Montessori environment for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years old. Just minutes from downtown, our school is tucked into a quiet Boise Bench neighborhood—providing a peaceful, home-like space where children feel

safe, seen, and inspired to thrive.

We offer full Montessori programs for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and kindergartners. Our carefully prepared classrooms and outdoor learning environments are designed to nurture curiosity, independence, and a deep love of learning. From hands-on materials to open-ended outdoor play, every detail supports the whole child—

physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively.

Our outdoor spaces include opportunities for loose parts play and risky play, both backed by current research and fully aligned with Montessori principles. These experiences help children build creativity, confidence, problem-solving skills, and resilience—

all while joyfully connecting with the natural world.

VMS is led by our founder and director, a certified Montessori teacher with over 20 years of experience in early childhood education. She also holds a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from Boise State University, ensuring that our guiding approach is grounded in the latest research in both early and special education.

Our lead teachers are Montessori trained, and every member of our staff participates in ongoing professional development. All staff are also certified in CPR and First Aid and have undergone an extensive background check process.

With intentionally low student-to-teacher ratios, we’re able to provide each child with the individualized attention and support they need to thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally.
