The staff at Vista Montessori School (VMS) is Montessori-trained and deeply dedicated to the physical, cognitive, and social-emotional development of each child.  Each VMS Montessori certified teacher has gone through extensive academic and practical training, is licensed by the City of Boise, and current in first aid and CPR training.  Additionally, each VMS staff member is committed to continuing education classes each year.

VMS's commitment to Montessori preschool training was responsible for bringing Caspari Montessori Institute International's (CMI) teacher training course to Boise and sponsoring the first accredited Montessori preschool training program ever to be offered in the State of Idaho.  Certification courses are held annually at VMS.  It is a tremendous benefit to our children and school community to have our teaching staff sharing a unified understanding of traditional Montessori and serving the children with a clear and consistent approach.  As a host school for CMI interns, VMS receives regular school consultation and is kept up-to-date with current research and educational practices.

CMI is accredited at the early childhood level through the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE), and is affiliated with the Pan American Montessori Society and the University of Montana Western.  CMI was founded by Dr. Elisabeth Caspari, a direct student and friend of Dr. Maria Montessori, and her student, Anita Wolberd, CMI's director.  CMI conducts certification courses and school consultation throughout Idaho and Montana.  Students (many of which are parents of Montessori children) come from local areas and from distant regions of North America to learn this approach to early childhood education.  Anita Wolberd, course instructor, has an inspiring approach to spreading Montessori's message of "help to life".  She is also a trainer and examiner for the Pan American Montessori Society, a MACTE Commissioner, and recent recipient of the Peacemaker Award from Community Mediation Center of Bozeman, Montana.
