Vista Montessori School Infant Program
serving children ages 6 weeks to 12 months of age

Vista Montessori School is happy to announce the opening of a program for infants.  The staff at Vista Montessori School are committed to providing high quality care to children from the earliest developmental stages.

The Vista Montessori School Infant Program Offers:

  • Low infant caregiver ratios
  • Montessori trained teachers experienced with infants
  • A loving, calm environment
  • Materials appropriate for each child's developmental level
  • Daily one on one interaction with an assigned primary care giver
  • Smooth transition into the Vista Montessori School Toddler Program

Personal bonds formed in the infant's first year are the foundation of all future relationships in the child's life even adulthood.  The bond with the primary caregiver is nurtured daily through feeding, diapering, and developmental play.  The orderliness of the environment and the consistency of care provide the child with a sense of trust in the world.  Trust and emotional stability developed during this sensitive period is a primary component in a child's ability to focus and become academically successful later.

One goal of Montessori education is to offer children an environment supporting their need to gain control over their physical movements.  Infants are encouraged to explore objects and their environment, natural  materials are always preferred, though not always available.  Caregivers observe each child carefully keeping notes on their development.

Infants are absorbing everything in their environment; they absorb language, the movements of those in their vicinity, facial expressions, and even the feelings of those close to them.  At Vista Montessori School, the teachers use proper gramar and correct pronunciation when naming objects and describing actions, walk slowly and quietly, and perform tasks while the children are observing.  The loving interactions help create an environment where each child's basic physical, emotional, and cognitive needs are met.
